A System Evaluation of CAN Transceivers
نویسنده
چکیده
This application note presents the results of an examination of a two-node controller area network utilizing the SN65HVD230 3.3-V CAN transceiver and the TMS320F243, 16-bit, 5 V fixed point DSP with integrated CAN controller. ISO-11898 (CAN) compliance testing is performed with an analysis of network errors under various experimental conditions, such as bus length, signaling rate, network loading, and common-mode voltage. Introduction A controller area network (CAN) is constructed to test transceivers in a real CAN system to better understand and develop CAN devices. This study further investigates the electrical-layer performance of the bus and the resulting system limitations of the network.

Performance Evaluation of Multiple-Antenna IEEE 802.11p Transceivers Using an FPGA-based MIMO Vehicular Channel Emulator
The IEEE 802.11p standard has been optimized for low-delay small-bandwidth wireless communications to provide vehicular safety services. However, IEEE 802.11p transceivers can considerably improve their robustness by incorporating MIMO transmission methods. Moreover, multiple antennas can also be used to increase the data transfer rate of IEEE 802.11p transceivers, a requirement necessary to im...
متن کاملSelf-Equalized Distributed Amplifier for Wide Band Optical Transceivers
A novel technique for a self-equalized distributed amplifier is presented by showing the analogy between transversal filters and distributed amplifier topologies. The appropriate delay and gain coefficients of amplifier circuit are obtained by a Fourier expansion of the raised cosine spectrum in the frequency range of 0-40GHz.
متن کاملCAN network design and verification using behavioral modeling languages
Prototype level evaluation and verification of communication networks in various configurations over all possible corners, temperature ranges, etc. is a time consuming and expensive task. Moreover only certain corners coming from tolerances of all network parts (cables, common mode chokes, ESD protections) can be evaluated by measurements. Proper behavioral modeling of all network components in...
متن کاملThe Signal and Noise Analysis of Direct Conversion EHM Transceivers
A direct conversion modulator-demodulator with even harmonic mixers with emphasis on noise analysis is presented. The circuits consist of even harmonic mixers (EHMs) realized with antiparallel diode pairs (APDPs). We evaluate the different levels of I/Q imbalances and DC offsets and use signal space concepts to analyze the bit error rate (BER) of the proposed transceiver using M-ary QAM schemes...
متن کاملPerformance evaluation of optimal DMT transceivers for ADSL application
Optimal transceivers that minimize the transmission power for a given probability of error and transmission bit rate will be evaluated for ADSL applications. We will compare the performance of the optimal DMT systems to that of DFT based DMT systems. The experiments show that the optimal DMT system usually has a gain of 3 dB or more over that of DFT based system. For comparable performances, th...
